Job Description
The role will lead a dedicated team of strategy professionals assigned to critical business priorities. It reports to the VP of Strategy & Business Transformation team for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands (AuNZPI). Core responsibilities include research, commercial analysis, and investment planning. Time spent on these areas will shift based on business needs. The Sr. Director will oversee all strategy projects (e.g., P&L growth plans, innovation rollout, regulatory engagement, go-to-market strategies) and ensure the AuNZPI Group Country Manager is equipped with data, insights, and strategic direction to meet corporate objectives.

What we expect of you day-to-day:
Shape and execute the strategic agenda for the organization, directly shaping business priorities and resource allocation to achieve measurable growth and transformation
Lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-year programs that drive operational efficiency, market expansion, and innovation
Develop and present high-impact business cases and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, securing buy-in for critical investments and change programs
Mentor and manage strategy professionals, building a high-performing team culture and ensuring capability development across the function
Establish and maintain influential relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry partners / clients
Monitor and interpret market, regulatory, and competitive trends, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and adjusting strategy to maintain a leadership position
Represent the organization in industry forums and regulatory engagement, enhancing Visa’s corporate reputation and driving thought leadership on sector-wide issues
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Key Competencies:
- Proven track record of leading large-scale strategy projects in complex environments
- Exceptional analytical acumen, with mastery of financial modelling, market analysis, and strategic planning
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, adept at engaging senior executives
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, navigating diverse interests and building consensus at the highest levels
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams, cultivating future leaders and driving organizational performance
- High degree of adaptability, commercial awareness, and emotional intelligence
What we are looking for:
- Time spent in management consulting, corporate strategy, or investment banking
- Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferred
