Job Description

The role will lead operations and business transformation for an organization of 300+ employees and reports to the VP, Head of Strategy & Business Transformation for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands (AuNZPI). Core responsibilities include oversight and ownership of day-to-day business planning and operations, as well as execution of strategically critical cross-functional initiatives. The Director will partner closely with Visa’s senior local executive – the Group Country Manager (GCM) – to ensure smooth execution and operational excellence.

Strong candidates are versatile team-players who learn fast, have high EQ and IQ, and carry a demonstrated record of driving workstreams through to successful outcomes.

What we expect of you day-to-day:

  • Shape the execution agenda and operating plan for Visa’s Australia, New Zealand, & Pacific Islands business across key financial metrics, and organisational priorities
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and drive an overhaul of key processes and structures
  • Design and oversee the Group Country Manager’s operating model (e.g., leadership forums, management reporting, town halls, executive communications)
  • Own content for business reviews and leadership forums end-to-end
  • Produce management reporting and surface actionable data and insights
  • Provide support to GM on speaking engagements, executive requests, and other topics
  • Manage corporate responsibilities on behalf of the GCM (e.g., investor relations, risk)

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. ​

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Key Competencies:
  • Impeccable written communication in both prose and visual presentations
  • Able to tackle shifting priorities at high speeds
  • Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
  • Ability to lead and manage complex workstreams or small projects independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated quantitative rigor
  • Attention to detail and the ability to structure and analyze financial and operational data
  • Outstanding stakeholder management abilities at both senior and junior levels
  • Strong executive communication skills i.e., written and oral communication
  • What we are looking for:
  • Time spent in management consulting, corporate strategy, or investment banking
  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferred
