Job Description

What's it all about?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Executive / Key Account Manager to join our Acceptance team under Regional Sales for Norway & Iceland. Our Regional Sales function is led by the Country Manager and is responsible for driving sales and development within the region. By building deep partnerships with our clients, leveraging our market & industry expertise and offering creative solutions, we are at the forefront of protecting and growing Visa’s brand and market share.

This role is within the Acceptance team, who specifically works with all acquirers, payment service providers, payment technology partners, and key merchants within the region. You will manage some of the most important Acceptance clients in the region, ensuring strong daily engagement and developing long-term strategic plans to maximise impact to the business of our clients and Visa.

We have identified significant areas for growth, including high-potential opportunities in Iceland, the e-commerce space and in increasing our network of PSP and merchant clients. We are looking for someone with deep acquiring/PSP experience, natural drive, and curiosity to succeed and make a difference every day. What we expect of you, day to day

  • Drive and grow the business for assigned clients and partners by assuming holistic understanding and responsibility for your clients and their needs.

  • Proactively lead the account strategies and plans work for your clients, liaising with relevant counterparts across Visa.

  • Leverage your interpersonal skills to build strong relationships at all levels with your clients — from C-level executives to operational specialists.

  • Your curiosity means that you have an understanding of developments in the payments technology landscape and proactively familiarize yourself with specific Visa products and services relevant to Acceptance clients.

  • Through your knowledge of acceptance clients and Visa’s solutions, identify and create new business opportunities with existing clients.

  • Ensure Visa’s new services and solutions are part of your clients’ future roadmaps.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Visa, ensuring the right parts of the business are involved to deliver solutions with pace and urgency.

  • Take on specific initiatives or projects as needed, such as acting as the team’s e-commerce specialist or mapping out merchant and PSP opportunities in specific geographies.

  • Contribute to the multi-year planning, budgeting, and growth targets for the Acceptance team and Regional Sales for Norway and Iceland.

  • Participate in select, relevant industry events and be an ambassador for Visa.

  • Act as a mentor and share your expertise across the team — everyone is a leader at Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

What we're after...

  • Proven experience in within the payments industry, specifically in card payment acquiring, payment service providers, or at a merchant.
  • Experience from Account management, new sales or as product specialist/manager within card Acceptance field. Track record of managing tier 1 clients with pan-European presence is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand client priorities and needs, and capability of quickly proposing solutions that can become business opportunities – and driving these to fruition.
  • Commercial mindset and proven ability to negotiate business agreements, enhance existing partnerships, and develop new ones.
  • Effective at prioritising and taking ownership of deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders at all levels of seniority – both internally and externally to Visa.
  • A natural curiosity with the conviction to challenge the status quo and do what’s right for the client and Visa.
  • Your ability to understand and devise high-level strategies, whilst also understanding details on a technical and operational level will allow you to excel in this role. You pride yourself on “walking the talk”.
  • Technically savvy with the ability to easily navigate new IT systems, as well as, strong data and analytics skills to run reports and derive high-level findings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially powerpoint, excel and teams is a prerequisite
  • Fluency in Norwegian or Icelandic (nice to have) and English (both written and verbal).
  • High standards of ethics and integrity.
