Job Description

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager of Technical Talent Acquisition will lead the strategic development and execution of recruiting strategies across North America. This leader will be specifically responsible for supporting our Commercial & Money Movement Solutions Product Development (CMS PD), Payment Products Development (PPD), and Value-Added Services Products Development (VAS PD) organizations. You will be pivotal in our mission to attract and hire the top-tier Software Engineering talent that designs, builds, and scales the future of global commerce.

This position serves as the primary, single-threaded Talent Acquisition leader for these business lines, collaborating with global peers to support leaders who are primarily based in the US. This is a unique opportunity to lead a distributed team of recruiters and sourcers, elevate Visa’s technical recruiting capabilities, and partner cross-functionally with a global Tech TA team.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who understands how talent acquisition must evolve to meet the demands of emerging technologies and brings experience in building and developing high-performing, distributed teams. They must bring a data-driven mindset to inform strategy, optimize for efficiency, and measure performance across the hiring funnel. Deep expertise in technical talent acquisition, sourcing methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Recruiting Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with Global Tech Sourcing Leaders to develop and execute innovative recruiting strategies, generating a robust pipeline of top-tier Software Engineering talent for our Commercial & Money Movement Solutions Product Development (CMS PD), Payment Products Development (PPD), and Value-Added Services (VAS) teams
  • Act as a trusted talent partner to technology leadership, advising on talent demand, competitive intelligence, and market trends to shape effective hiring strategies.
  • Lead the team to deliver on hiring targets for complex technical and niche roles, ensuring a healthy pipeline of qualified candidates and an exceptional, equitable candidate experience.

Data, Analytics & Innovation

  • Manage key operational metrics for the recruiting team to ensure efficiency, predictability, and the highest level of performance.
  • Leverage data and analytics to provide insights, drive decisions, and measure the effectiveness of recruiting strategies.
  • Pioneer the integration of new tools and technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to enhance sourcing, candidate evaluation, and recruiter efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, geographically distributed team of technical recruiters and sourcers across North America.
  • Act as the single-threaded Talent Acquisition leader for the CMS PD, PPD, and VAS organizations, driving end-to-end talent strategy and execution for these critical business lines.
  • Serve as the strategic talent advisor to leaders within these business units, influencing hiring strategy through data-driven insights and market expertise.
  • Partner with global TA peers in other time zones to provide seamless, worldwide support for business leaders, particularly those in the US.
  • Foster a strong partnership with the broader global Tech TA team to share best practices, talent intelligence, and drive consistent processes.

This hybrid role is based in our Austin, TX office. The role is built on a foundation of in-person collaboration, with an expectation of 3 days of in-office presence per week, typically Tuesday-Thursday.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 6 years of work experience with a PhD.


Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing a technical recruiting function.
• Proven experience leading technical recruiting for distinct business units with demonstrated success managing teams and stakeholders across multiple regions.
• Experience acting as a primary TA partner or 'single-threaded leader' for specific business units within a larger global enterprise.
• Strong executive presence and the ability to influence and advise senior business leaders.
• Deep knowledge of advanced sourcing methodologies, recruiting technologies (ATS, CRM), and data-driven recruiting strategies.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 145,400.00 to 210,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
