Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, we solve the most strategic problems for our clients.
Our team is seeking a Consulting Manager based in Oslo to join our strategic consulting practice. This role involves contributing to the development and implementation of high-impact projects for our clients in the Nordic and Baltic regions. As part of your responsibilities, you will collaborate closely with our clients across various regions to deliver effective solutions. Your focus will be on initiating strategies that promote sustainable and profitable growth, thereby solidifying Visa's position as both a preferred brand and an exceptional business partner.
This role is ideal for experienced consultants who want to apply their strategic problem-solving skills in the fast-evolving payments industry.
Job Description
What we are looking for:
You will be curious about the payments industry, and keen to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team. You will be comfortable managing a consulting engagement project end-to-end, under the guidance of Senior Managers, Directors, or Senior Directors, depending on the size of the engagement.

What a Client Consulting Manager does at Visa:
You will work on consulting engagements for Visa’s clients in the Nordics & Baltics. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide advice, problem solving skills, data insights and specialist expertise to drive growth and profitability in our clients’ payments businesses. Typical engagements can include but not limited to:
- Strategies to improve customer engagement and retention
- Acquisition strategies for targeted customer segments
- Enhancing digital customer experience
- Profitability optimisation assessment
- Risk and Fraud optimisation initiatives and analysis
Responsibilities:
- Lead consulting initiatives and contribute to securing future engagements by identifying potential opportunities with clients.
- Manage multiple priorities across various workstreams and projects simultaneously.
- Prepare client proposals from problem statements with guidance from leadership.
- Participate in creating frameworks, approaches, solutions, and recommendations that effectively address impactful opportunities and challenges.
- As project manager, manage junior team members such as Analysts, Graduates and Interns.
- Build solutions and measurable insights to help clients grow their portfolios and drive customer engagement.
- Collaborate across functions (e.g., local client relationship managers, marketing, sales, risk, innovation) and global teams to gain insights and support client engagement and execution.
- Produce insights, analyses, and recommendations to improve client performance, boost growth, and provide strategic guidance on client priorities.
- Perform client-specific analysis on portfolio data, including customer demographics, activity, spend levels, behavioral scores, and financial information.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will likely have:
- Strong background in consulting, payments and/or financial services firms leading and executing high impact client projects.
- Problem-solving skills with a strategic focus on influencing ROI. An understanding of card issuers' P&L and key profitability drivers is a plus.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, particularly in designing and delivering project results and materials.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to manage numerous projects concurrently and work with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong team orientation, collaborative, flexible, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization and enjoys learning through new challenges.
- Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to yield insights and a proven ability to build models in Microsoft Excel to support business cases.
- Capability to take a problem statement and support the creation of proposals, including competitive analysis, with guidance from leadership.
- Excellent client relationship management skills with experience being part of strong sales teams and/or experience in dealing with senior client stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive innovation and lead change in successful top tier companies
While proficiency in Norwegian is not a requirement, it is considered a valuable asset for your application.
