Job Description
As Director of Corporate Communications for France and Belux (FBL), you will be a critical member of the Corporate Communications function in Europe, operating as part of the Communications Leadership Team in Europe and acting as a strategic business partner to the FBL business. Based in Paris, you will focus on shaping and executing communications campaigns that drive employee engagement, protect and enhance Visa’s reputation and support commercial priorities. You’ll deliver meaningful impact through strong media contacts, flawless media engagement and strong storytelling, ensuring our voice is relevant, bold, and aligned with Visa’s FY26 strategy and 2030 vision. This pivotal role is central to inspiring colleagues, safeguarding Visa’s licence to operate, shaping the narrative, and driving client awareness and preference.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate as part of the Corporate Communications Leadership team in Europe.
· Serve as a trusted advisor and communications business partner to the France and Belux leadership team, providing strategic counsel on employee engagement, reputation and media.
· Lead and deliver communications campaigns that support business growth and strengthen Visa’s market position.
· Develop and execute an internal communications programme that builds pride, alignment, and connection across France and Belux teams.
· Partner with European and global communications teams to localise global narratives and amplify regional impact.
· Manage media relations, including proactive storytelling and reactive issues management, leveraging strong journalist relationships in France and Belux.
· Create compelling content across formats - press releases, blogs, video, social media, executive speeches- that brings Visa’s priorities to life.
· Build and manage executive visibility programmes for Group Country Manager, including media training and thought leadership.
· Support crisis and issues response as part of the Europe Corporate Communications team.
· Track and report on communications impact using data and insights to continuously optimise.
· Collaborate closely with Corporate Affairs, including Government Affairs, to align messaging and support Visa’s strategic objectives.
· Work in partnership with Marketing to ensure consistent and impactful storytelling across all channels.
· Drive thought leadership initiatives that position Visa as a forward-thinking leader in payments and technology.
· Line management responsibilities, including coaching, performance management, and development of direct report.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
· Experienced communicator, strong media skills; strong stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration in a corporate, matrixed environment. Internal and external communications experience a must.
· Strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling and delivering high-impact campaigns.
· Exceptional writing and editing skills, with ability to craft clear, compelling, audience-tailored content across multiple formats and channels.
· Strong enthusiasm for emerging technologies and commitment to driving innovation.
· Proven ability to build and nurture strong business relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve complex challenges through strategic thinking and data-informed decision-making.
· Experience in a matrixed, multinational environment, ideally in financial services, technology, or regulated industries.
· Strong media relations skills and ability to manage complex reputational issues.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
· Proven ability to lead teams, manage agencies, and deliver results under pressure.
· Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, including digital, social, and influencer engagement.
· Experience with measurement and evaluation tools to demonstrate ROI and inform strategy.
· A collaborative mindset and commitment to innovation, and continuous learning.
